Community

fuse & traverse is Alaskan-owned and proud to call Alaska home. From Annette to Utqiagvik, Alaska is our community. We are committed to community investment and volunteerism and are a sustaining supporter of multiple charities that work diligently to improve life for Alaskans, protect our environment, and support the next generation of Alaska’s leaders.

Direct Support

Ft provides direct financial support to multiple charities in Alaska and around the world that address social, public health, and environmental issues. Ft selects charities with demonstrated success. We provide direct support to student development, such as the Academic Student WorldQuest, and to professional development conferences.

Volunteering

We volunteer as mentors with the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) High School program and deliver hands-on science workshops to middle and high school classes in rural Alaska. Our work has even taken us as volunteers to the Jiyyeh Oil Spill in Beirut, Lebanon, where we exchanged knowledge with Green Line, a local non-profit, and students from the American University of Beirut.

Sustainability

We are committed to minimizing our footprint, whenever possible, by purchasing our supplies from local businesses and using locally owned and operated services (flight services, restaurants, accommodations, guides, etc.).

To reduce waste, we minimize our use of disposable products whenever safe and practicable. We purchase locally or prioritize using materials that have value in remote communities and, when possible, donate leftovers to our local supporters in the communities.

Fossil-fuel based travel is critical for our work, and we minimize it whenever possible. Since our inception, fuse & traverse has purchased TerraPass™ carbon offsets for all of our air, car, boat, and 4-wheeler travel.
